sharing your passion

It's funny how when you're passionate about something people say you should reveal that passion.

If you're artistic, draw.

If you're wordy, write.

If you're crafty, create.

And then tell the world all about it. Share your passion.

{OMG, as soon as I finished writing this post last night, I read this from Sarah Mae.... "What is it that makes your spirit come alive when you talk about it? What could you talk about for hours?... What makes your heart beat fast?... That's the thing. That's what you write about."   Now, continue reading and share your thoughts.}

For me, I've had a long time passion in the world of fitness. Specifically, weight training. Weight lifting.  Pumping iron. Hittin' the gym.

And that passion has developed into a love of, as Disney World might put it, "making dreams come true." As crazy as it sounds, helping people lose weight and claim their life back is like making their dream come true. They feel better, physically, mentally and emotionally. They have more confidence. They exude so much happiness that they walk around as a walking testimony to what being physically fit can do for you.

And I'm not talking about the 5'10"  140 pound girl who wants to lose 15 pounds.  I'm talking about the 300 pound mom of 3 who lost 50 pounds and can move around a little easier. The 45 year old man who lost his beer gut and 20 pounds of fat and packed on 10 pounds of lean muscle.

And the people I've helped along the way see my passion as more than just what I do for a job.  They see that I'm truly dying to help people reach their goals.

Now, tomorrow, I'm going to get more specific as to why I'm so passionate about weight training, but can we just talk for a minute on our passions?

So obviously I love fitness and weight training and pushing my body to the max because I see the benefit behind it. It is good for our body to be physically healthy and strong.

Some people come out and ask me about my passion... asking for help or advice.  Some of those people take my advice and some people just say "thanks" and move along. Some people never ask for help, but out of passion and wanting to help, I encourage them to start moving. Every little step they take towards a healthy life can change their life.  Make those dreams come true.

Am I being pushy?  Should I only talk about my passion on other fitness websites?  Do you read about other peoples' passions, whether it's art or style or interior decorating?  Or only if it's a topic of interest to you?  People say to just show your passion, people will recognize your passion and people will listen and respond.

What is your passion? Do you share your passion with others? Share your thoughts.

I encourage you to read two great blog posts written by two friends that will preface what I have to say tomorrow regarding weight training.  No, I don't plan on jamming anything down your throat... perhaps just some food for thought.

Absolutely! If we don't share our passions, then we aren't really being ourselves.

Your passions is part of YOU. Also, once people know your passion, it can help them to reach out if they need help in that area.

Okay but here's the part that has me worried...how do you know what your passion is? What if you don't have one? These questions have been bothering me for some time now and would love to hear what other people have to say.

Yes! Your passion is part of you, so it really should just come out naturally, right? (more on that tomorrow).

Angie, I think you have one, you just might need to nurture it. What do you love? what could you talk about for hours? What makes your eyes light up?

That's why I'm worried....I don't know. I can think of lots of things that I would love to try or put more effort towards but I can't seem to find anything that sparks interest or creativity or passion deep down in my soul. Is that normal? Does anyone else feel that way? That maybe we're too busy or too tired or too timid to look for our passion? It makes me wonder....what am I missing out on?

I feel I've got quite a few passions...my faith, my family, health, helping others, sewing and crafts...

I look forward to reading more of what you want to share. What is the point of blogging if you don't share your passions?

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really appreciate it!

I think it is absolutley great to share your passions. In fact, I need to take a bit of that advice myself as there is this offensive to me blogpost from someone who doesn't understand the farming community.

And I for one am GRATEFUL you share you passion! I so appreciate you helping me out and sharing your reccomendations with me!
