summer lovin'

{Once you get done reading here, please go check out my "wisdom-esque" post over at Dutch Being Me.}

Summer... the long awaited season. I love summer. I love warm weather. I love sunshine.

It's funny how the little things change when summer rolls around.

Lately, the biggest change has been that beautiful sunshine shining through my kids' window a tad too early, which causes them to tiptoe to our bedroom door at an hour far too early, which causes me to be tempted to set the channel to PBS and just let them watch while I crawl back in bed.

If the time on the clock starts with a 5, it's back to bed they go.  If it's around 6:30, one of us sucks it up and gets up with them. They used to sleep til past 7:00 with no problems at all.

I blame it on the (beautiful, warm, gorgeous, lovely-only-when-I'm-outside-not-at-5:30am) sunshine.

There seems to be less time on the computer during the day as well.  Spending more time playing, running around, spring cleaning, fixing things up and just plain ol' having fun. Of course, I'm working more during the day now (and less in the evening) and I'm not online at work, so that makes a difference too.  We've been taking the time to clean out the clutter and junk and make our house a little more cozy.

As the kids get a little older, we're doing more things like going for bike rides, taking walks, movie dates, painting, and local events.

I find with winter, we tend to stay in more... which isn't a bad thing. But I figure we should take advantage of the gorgeous weather before it's gone! Summer is just a fun season to do more stuff!!

#1. With summer upon us, how does your daily routine change? (more outside time, waking early/sleeping in, more/less activities, etc).

#2. Top five excuses for not reaching your goal. (weight loss goal, writing a book goal, cleaning the house goal, etc.)

Isn't it great how summer gets us up and moving so much more than winter? We have been walking after work with the kids and dogs. Love getting out in the sun after a long day at work. Now only if the rain of all things would go away here in the Bay Area!

I've been up at 6 almost every day this week thanks to the kids. I miss the days of "sleeping in" past 7 o'clock. I do like that I'm able to get so much more done though thanks to that extra hour.
