Alright people, if you have a Blogger blog, listen up.
Please, please consider changing one thing. For the love of commenting. Either....
A) Turn off your word verification completely
or
B) Change it so that people see the word verification from the start, not after they have commented and the page loads and they possibly already click the X in the corner without the comment going through.
Seriously. I've heard so many people say that they write a huge comment, miss the word verification because it pops up after the fact, they close out and don't feel like writing the comment again.
Here's what you can do instead....
Moderate comments. Turn the moderation ON. Yes, you'll have to approve each one (and therefore can delete any yucky spam).
Choose the pop-up box. With the pop-up box, the comments show up in a new little window. You can even leave the word verification on here. At least people see the word verification right away and won't miss it.
Just a thought. Consider it. Save commenting.

I can't agree more. BEST if they don't even have word verification, but I prefer word verification over comment moderation.
I was a good girl (at least as it relates to this...ahem.) and turned it off when the campaign started on Twitter. :) I'm not cool enough to receive yucky spam yet. But I'm ok with that. I don't need anything enlarged. Or harder. Thanks.

I get an annoying amount of spam mail (we used to have this problem on OM, did you manage to right that?), so I keep my comment moderation on... but for you-- and only you-- I'm getting rid of word verification!

Never been a fan of those Captcha thingy. Kinda annoys me ESPECIALLY when I cannot read the freaking words... and it makes me feel like an old lady when I'm trying real hard to decipher the words/letters...
For my own blog (nope, I'm not on blogger nor wordpress), I moderate all the comments I get. Rather the trouble at my end than to trouble my readers/visitors! :)

And why oh why would someone have word verification AND comment moderation on? Major overkill there.
Bravo! I totally agree. Lately not only can I sometimes not even read the word, but I have to submit my comment several times before it takes. What gives???

I moderate all of my comments. Hate the spammage and also word verification.

I receive only a little spam, but I can catch most of it by setting it up so I moderate comments left after 7 days. They like to spam my old posts. And now that blogger has added a spam filter, maybe people will start to drop the word verification thing!
