{Rachel is the winner of my Mother's Day Trib-U-te! Congrats Rachel... or rather your husband for the awesome words he wrote. :) Please email me so I can send you your gift! Thanks to everyone!}

So, yesterday we attacked the invitations. Super easy, lots of tutorials online for different variations. I love the Criss-Cross Card (if you're ambitious). Today, I'm showing you a banner I made. This is the first banner I've ever made and again, it was super easy and requires very little materials.
I used my Cricut machine to cut out the triangles and letters. Glued them on and hole punched holes on the top of the triangles. I used twine (that I found in the $1 bin at Target, thankyouverymuch) to weave through the holes.
So, what if you don't have a fancy Cricut? Good news. You can easily make triangles (or squares) and cut them yourself. (A paper trimmer is another one of those items that you should have on-hand. Again, you'll pay for it up front but you will use it a lot. Again, find them on sale or with a coupon for less than $10).
Fold the paper long ways in half (shown below) and in half again to make squares.
Fold the paper diagonally in half (shown below) and in half again for triangle pieces. I used 12x12 scrapbook paper which comes out to pretty decent sized shapes, but you could easily use 8.5x11" paper.
For the letters, (again, I used my Cricut), try punch out (or die-cut) letters or even large stamps.
Have you ever made a homemade banner for a party/shower? Any other ideas to dress it up?

Great idea and my son's 4th birthday is this weekend. I haven't unpacked my cricut yet from our move. Better bust that thing out!
Lots of yummy love,

Look at you, all crafty! Um, I can't remember if I have (yes, I'm that old!)
I have however used poster board, had the kids draw big "thank yous" on them and take a picture of them holding the sign as thank you cards!
