six degrees

Do I really need to explain the whole "six degrees of separation?"  Or as most of us know it... "Six degrees of Kevin Bacon." 

A commenter (or maybe it was an email and I'm so sorry I don't remember... I'm pleading "busy working mom brain-dead syndrome") said something about finding my blog through "six degrees" and I immediately had a thought. 

Have you all heard of "Follow Friday"?  It's a big thing on twitter and is now taking over the blogging world.  It's a great way to meet other bloggers, follow new blogs and get new followers. 

So, this "six degrees" idea was sorta born out of that.  I will feature it on Saturdays (what an easy way to get a Saturday post in!!) and I hope you all have fun, find some new blogs and find some new followers too!  This is really meant to be another BIG support system of bloggers coming together and leaving comments for each other!!

Here's the rules:

*Start on your own blog

*Click on a link to another blog. On that blog, click a link to another blog,  that leads to another and another til you get to 6 clicks.

*Once you arrive on your "six degrees" blog, leave a comment saying "Hey! Found you through six degrees of blogging.  Your are featured on my blog! (Leave your blog URL so they can find you.)

*THEN, on your own blog, write a super quick post that includes the Six Degrees Button and a quick blurb saying who you found and something nice about them and/or their blog.
*Encourage your readers to stop by their blog as well and leave some comment love!

(See how this can really be a support, an encouragement and REALLY brighten someone's day??  What if you woke up to 10, 20, 50 comments because someone found you through Six Degrees?? I'm giddy just thinking about it! And it will only take a few minutes, I promise!)

I'm debating about having everyone link up to a MckLinky or not.  I mean, I want to because I would love to see who you all are "featuring", but I also don't want you to feel like you "have to do another thing."  So, I'm going to launch on Saturday (w/ a MckLinky... we'll see how that goes) and I hope you all play.  We are all bloggers and it's awesome to have a support system behind us!  Six Degrees of Blogging is meant for just that! You never know what kind of blog you'll land on next!
